The William Hill Great St Wilfrid
Saturday 14th August 2027
Join us for Ripon’s biggest raceday of the year, with competitive racing and a summer Saturday atmosphere to match.
The highlight is the William Hill Great St Wilfrid Handicap, our prestigious six-furlong sprint and the race every runner’s connections will be hoping to add to their trophy cabinet.
Whether you’re studying the form or simply enjoying an afternoon with friends, this is a day to experience Ripon at its best. Get close to the contenders around the Parade Ring, choose your favourite and cheer them home.
A RACE WITH PROUD HISTORY
Named after Ripon’s patron saint, the Great St Wilfrid is the racecourse’s most valuable race and a highlight of our season.
In 2026, Royal Zabeel took the honours for trainer Mick Appleby and jockey Jason Watson, giving Appleby consecutive victories following Intervention’s success in 2025.
