Accessibility
Ripon Racecourse strives to ensure accessibility for all racegoers. We want to guarantee all our valued customers a great racing experience.
Parking
We have a limited number of accessible parking spaces on site; it is advisable to arrive early to guarantee a space. The ground is level from parking through to both the paddock and club ticket gates.
Toilets
There are wheelchair accessible toilets throughout the racecourse and within the bar area, they are clearly indicated but if unsure of location please ask staff for help. We also have an accessible ambulant toilet with handrails in the both the male and female Paddock toilets.
The Paddock
There is completely accessible access as the Paddock enclosure is completely flat. There is a raised viewing point with a ramp located in the paddock area near the finishing posts.
Club Stand
There is a lift allowing access to both the 1st and 2nd floor with a further viewing point on the first floor; guidance to the viewing point can be obtained from staff.
Course Enclosure
This is an open grassed enclosure and this enclosure provides the ease of parking your car a few yards away. There is a sloped area providing viewing options for all but the Course enclosure is mainly comprised of flat land ensuring accessibility.
Sunflower Scheme
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool to voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.
Sunflower wearers can feel confident when attending events at Ripon Races that staff will be able to identify them and offer additional support or time. Racegoers will be able to contact us to request a Sunflower lanyard with pre-booked tickets. Racegoers will also have the option to bring their own Sunflower lanyard which will be recognised in the same way by racecourse staff.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are dogs that have been trained in order to provide assistance to people who are deaf, blind or disabled people or those with certain medical conditions.
For safety reasons, only assistance dogs are allowed into racecourse enclosures on racedays. If possible please bring along your assistance dog’s ID book or ensure that your dog is wearing a recognisable jacket or harness.
Information
We are aware that not all disabilities are visible – if you have identification of this, please do bring it with you.
If you need to discuss further requirements or book accessible tickets, call the main office on 01765 530530 and we will assist with any queries.
We offer a companion ticket free of charge. Proof of eligibility may be asked for, please do not take offence if you are asked for this.
