It’s our most valuable race day of the season on Saturday 16th August which last year had over £144,000 of prize money on offer including a total pot of £75,000 for our feature race, ‘The William Hill Great St Wilfrid’. The prestigious 6f Handicap, which has been sponsored by William Hill for 30 years, showcases some of the country’s top sprinters
In 2024 the big race was won by Dare To Hope trained by Richard Fahey. Previous winners include Intrinsic Bond (2022), course record holder Justanotherbottle (2021), Staxton (2020), Dakota Gold (2019), Gunmetal (2018), Mattmu (2017), Nameitwhatyoulike (2016), Out Do (2015), Don’t Touch (2014), Baccarat (2013), Pepper Lane (2012 & 2011) & the much loved Pipalong (1999) to name a few.
This is a perfect day out for all the family and as always we welcome junior racegoers, with FREE admission for accompanied under 18′s.
