Tim Easterby and David Allen were the stars of the show, notching a 5f double with Vintage Times in the Fillies Novice contest and Count D’Orsay in the Rewarding Ownership with the ROA Handicap.
The night began with a win for Lukoutoldmakezeback for David Thompson under Aled Beech, who was having his first ride at Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse. War Of Clans initially passed the post in front to win the 6f Nursery but the result was overturned in the Stewards’ Room with Nigel Tinkler’s Singe Anglais getting the call and giving Faye McManoman her first winner at Ripon.
The feature race of the night, The ROA Rewards Members Handicap, was won by the Keith Dalgleish-trained Caustic Love under Shane Gray. This was his third win in five starts in 2019 and there could still be more progress to come from him.
Theatro, a winner at Ripon in June, clearly relishes the track as she defied a 12lb higher mark to win the finale for Jedd O’Keeffe and Graham Lee.
