Enclosures
Which enclosure to choose? Our three racing enclosures are outlined below, to make your choice a little easier. Please consult our course map for location details. If you are still unsure, please call our friendly office team.
Club Stand
In the Club Stand, our premium enclosure, you can enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in the Club Dining Room, or sip a glass of champagne in our popular Silks and Saddles Bar.
You can go down to the Winning Post to catch a glimpse of the horses dashing by or view them from our seated and covered Club Stand. The excitement of the Parade Ring and Winner’s Enclosure are close by and can be viewed on the balcony of the popular St Wilfrid Bar located on the first floor.
Coming to Ripon is often a celebration and this area provides the chance to dress up, as ladies often wear hats and gentlemen are known to take advantage of the opportunity to put on their best suit for the occasion. Admission includes a complimentary racecard, which includes much more than the information on the runners & riders.
Please note a Club Stand badge also allows you access into the Paddock Enclosure as well as the Course Enclosure, in which you can find the majority of our FREE children’s entertainment on our popular Bank Holiday and Family racedays.
Picnics are not allowed in the Club Enclosure.
Smart attire is required, no sportswear.

Paddock Enclosure
Admission into the Paddock Enclosure allows you access to the main areas of the racecourse, including access to the Parade Ring to view the horses, and with fantastic views of the track.
With our fantastic pre-booked group rates, it’s the biggest and most popular area of the course for large groups. There is no dress code for the Paddock Enclosure so you can come casually dressed.
Enjoy a drink in the popular Wakeman Bar, or try a pint of Yorkshire’s best in the Theakston Terrace Bar. We have a variety of areas in which to eat, including the Fountains Café, serving a wide range of tasty home comforts or why not try our freshly cooked Fish ‘n’ Chips?
You also have access to the main betting ring at the front of the stands. Various Tote betting points are also available. You also have access to all areas in the Course Enclosure, and there is an option to upgrade to the Club Enclosure on the day for the difference in ticket prices when availability allows.
Picnics are allowed in the Paddock Enclosure, but NO alcohol is permitted.

Course Enclosure
This is the most informal area of the racecourse which is always very popular on our Family and Feature Racedays for those wanting to bring a picnic and have a great, affordable day out . It offers a view of the finish line and has a bar and food outlets available. With limited cover on a wet raceday, visitors can still view all of the action on the TVs in the Course Enclosure Bar. There are plenty of places to get your bets on with on site bookmakers, William Hill and Tote betting.
Picnics are welcome in the Course Enclosure and we offer racegoers the opportunity to bring their own alcoholic drinks to accompany their picnics.
Please note there is a maximum allowance of four cans per person, or the equivalent, and strictly no glass bottles. BBQ’s are not permitted.
Some racegoers do like to bring their own tables, chairs and gazebos, this is allowed, but we do ask that you do not restrict anyone’s view of the track.
If you are unsure please email us at info@ripon-races.co.uk or call the office on 01765 530530 and we will be happy to answer your queries.
